Welcome to my Anxiety blog UK, called 'No prescrptions needed'.
Now everyone loves freedom, so when I am writing my blog I find my motivation appears when I have the freedom to write about something that has just caught my interest. it might just be something from what I have read, either in a research paper, a book or an article on line, or listened to in a podcast. So forgive me for not following a particular theme with each one, and forgive me again, as I want to be able to write my blog as I would want to say it out loud. Thus we might find a few gramatical errors as I try and type at the same speed of my thoughts.
I guess there is a theme, there always is. The theme is about wellbeing and using what we can, with what our bodies naturally provide or how we can use the enviroment around us to benefit and improve health. The body and environment becomes even more amazing when you start to discover the benefits and with no prescrption needed.
Love your breath, now Im not talking about how your breath smells or mouth hygiene. I am talking about how to love your breath, using it correctly to really help the body to calm and induce many other interesting and benefitting things.
Breathing, you could say is one of the most natural things we do, and many of us are not breathing optimally. Modern living, the daily stressors of the day, can all affect how we breathe, even without knowing. Unconsciously, dealing with the stressors of the day can literally change the breathing pattern and not always for the best. Possibly developing unhelpful breathing habits.
Welcome to the world of virtual reality exposure therapy ,VRET for a shorter name.
Well what is it? VRET allows clients to immerse themselves into another world, usually one where the particular context would normally be avoided ! With the guidance of a trained therapist, a client can learn to desensitise themselves to the particular stimulus they may be avoiding.
Fear of heights can be quite natural and you could say fairly normal, I mean who wouldn’t want their nervous system to send a gentle reminder when near the edge of something high or just at a height anywhere? Your nervous system is doing its job and wanting to keep you safe and others.
